Fiberglass Protective Coating
$ 8.35
A clear acrylic protective coating for all wooden and fiberglass products. Protects ladders and other assemblies against decaying, cracking, chipping, fading, and flaking caused by the weather. The fast-drying, non-conductive formula comes in an easy-to-use aerosol can; no brush needed. May be used on hot sticks. NEETRAC tested to industry standards for FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) tools.
Applications
Use Fiberglass Protective Coating Spray on wood and fiberglass surfaces, including:
- Ladders
- All types of disconnect boxes
- Material handling booms
- Temporary change-out equipment
- Fiberglass street light poles
Additional Use Cases
This fiberglass clear coat spray is also perfect for boats, RVs, marine equipment, outdoor panels, and telecom enclosures where UV resistance and electrical safety are essential. It functions as a fiberglass top coat and fiberglass sealer, which makes it a versatile solution for utility crews, electricians, and industrial maintenance teams.
Application Instructions
-
Surface Prep: Surface must be clean, dry, and free of rust before spraying. Any dirt or residue can interfere with adhesion and reduce the durability of the fiberglass top coat. If needed, lightly sand the area or wipe it down with a solvent to remove buildup.
-
How to Apply: Spray surface with steady, even strokes at a distance of 8 to 10 inches (20 to 25cm). Several light coats give a better finish than one heavy coat.
-
Dry and Cure Time: Thirty minutes dry time between coats. And 30 minutes full cure time after the final application.
-
Temperature and Humidity Range: For best results, apply when the temperature is between 50ºF–90ºF. Avoid spraying in high humidity, strong winds, or direct sunlight, as these conditions can cause the coating to dry too quickly or unevenly.
-
Ventilation: Working in a well-ventilated area allows the coating to cure properly and keeps fumes to a minimum.
Basic Information About the Fiberglass Protective Coating
-
This general-purpose acrylic coating is suitable for most surfaces where maximum indoor/outdoor durability is desired.
-
This clear acrylic coating protects ladders and other assemblies from decaying, cracking, chipping, fading, and flaking caused by weather. It can be used on all wooden and fiberglass products.
-
This fiberglass sealer spray can be used on hot sticks, material handling booms, upper aerial lift and digger derrick booms, and temporary change-out equipment.
-
This fast-drying aerosol formula requires no brushing.
-
The coating has been tested for durability on fiberglass products by the National Electric Energy Testing Research and Application Center (NEETRAC).
-
NEETRAC tested dielectrically safe.
-
Protects against ultra-violet radiation.
-
Coverage area per can: Testing determined it takes three cans to restore a 10-foot fiberglass ladder.
Note: The degree of degradation of surface appearance will be accelerated by warm, moist climates, areas of high humidity, and high solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
